I have started working on an eBook to write about Windows Server Virtualization. Apart from what and how of Hyper-V, I will provide VBscript samples to show to how to use a few Hyper-V WMI interfaces. There will a few scripts not included as a part of HVS2008 UI. So, please check the eBook for regular updates. You can download individual chapters o f eBook at http://www.ravichaganti.com/blog/?page_id=498checkout my other work too http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/VHDShellExtThis tool development is stopped. I will not be modifying the features of this tool anymore. If you are user of this tool, and would like report any bugs, please do send me an email at email@example.comProject Description
Hyper-V Server 2008 is based on Server Core and has no local management possible. One must have a second machine (either Windows Vista SP1 or Windows Server 2008).
This project intends to develop various scripts and put them together in to a small user interface for easier / local management of hyper-v server. Most of the functionality (except VM console access / Guest Install) achieved using Hyper-V Management MMC will be mimiced here. There are numerous places on Internet with lots of PowerShell scripts to manage VMs from command-line. However, Hyper-V Server 2008 or Server Core OS lacks the required support to run PowerShell Scripts. This project intends to develop a text menu based interface -- similar to hvconfig.cmd -- using VBScripts to manage Hyper-V related activities locally from the Server Core or Hyper-V Server 2008 system
