This is a major release and I have included everything required to just get started with Guest OS install. Here is a total list of feature as they would appear in the tool

  • Create Virtual Machine
  • Delete Virtual Machine
  • Modify Virtual Machine
  • List Virtual Machines
  • Start / Turn-Off / Save / Shutdown Virtual Machines
  • Change Default VM File Location
  • Connect an ISO to install guest

Virtual Network Related Activities
  • Create Virtual Switch
  • Delete Virtual Switch
  • Add an emulated NIC to VM
  • Add a Synthetic NIC to VM
  • List Virtual Switches
  • List Virtual Machine to Switch Associations

Virtual Disk Related Activities
  • Create Virtual Hard Disk
  • Validate Virtual Hard Disk
  • Compact Virtual Hard Disk
  • Expand Virtual Hard Disk
  • Mount Virtual Hard Disk
  • UnMount Virtual Hard Disk
  • Change Default Virtual Hard disk file location
  • Create Virtual Floppy Drive

Miscellaneous activities
  • Nothing Yet

In the above list,
  • Create Virtual Floppy Drive
  • List Virtual Machine to Switch Associations
  • Modify Virtual Machine
are still pending. I will post these as well soon.

Also, I would like to add a few more features like
  • Snapshot management
  • Export/import of VMs
  • Virtual Machine backup related activities

Above alll, find a way to make vmconnect.exe work on Server Core. I have had significant progress on this. I would see the vmconnect.exe dialog open and as I select the VMHOST name, the drop-down gets populated with list of VMs on the host. However, there is a CLR exception at this point. I need to debug through that and find out what is happening.

Also, I would like a couple of misc utilities to on/off Hyper-V event notifications, on/off removable drive notifications, etc

I will start putting together some documentation on how to use this on my blog http://www.ravichaganti.com/blog
